  • What is the cost of a tax return?
In most situations we will provide a quote for your tax return up front. It’s hard for me to provide you with an exact value without knowing exactly what is required in your tax return. I would advise prior to proceeding if the value was to deviate from that amount. Please reach out through the contact section for a free quote.
  • When is my tax return due?
Once we have access to your ATO information we can advise the lodgement due dates that apply to you. Generally speaking the following is the lodgement due date. Please note that missing the lodgement due date does not mean you cannot lodge, but it does mean that the ATO can charge late lodgement penalties and interest. Individuals and Trust: 31 October: Individuals and trusts lodging their own tax returns for the financial year (1 July – 30 June). Payment is due on or before this date. 15 May: If you engage a registered tax agent, you may qualify for an extended deadline, typically up to 15 May of the following year. To be eligible for this extension, it's essential to appoint a tax agent before the 31 October deadline. Companies and Super Funds: 31 October: Companies with one or more prior year returns outstanding as of 30 June. Payment is due by 1 December. 31 March: Entities with total income exceeding AUD 2 million in the prior financial year are required to lodge by this date. Payment is due on the same day. 15 May: This is the lodgment deadline for most other companies. Payment is also due on this date.
  • Do you do tax returns for Temporary Australian Residents?
Yes, I work with a large client base, particularly from the United Kingdom and Ireland, who travel to Australia on working visas.
  • What is a Medicare Entitlement Statement?
A Medicare Entitlement Statement (MES) is a document issued by Services Australia that confirms a person is not eligible for Medicare benefits in Australia. It is often required for individuals who are working in Australia on a temporary visa. The application can be completed online through the Services Australia website (requires access to MyGov) or as a paper application form. It is important to note that if you are eligible for Medicare but haven’t enrolled, you cannot claim an exemption and we must receive a copy of the MES for your records and tax filing purposes.
